Financial assistance is available to low income families in the State of Illinois.

Important Notice

LIHEAP Application Period is September 1, 2022 – May 31, 2023, or until funding is exhausted.

Financial assistance is available for families struggling to pay home heating bills. The annual enrollment period for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) starts September 1, 2022, and runs through May 31, 2023, or until funding is exhausted. In addition, eligible water and sewer customers facing disconnection may also apply for the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). New applications are not being accepted for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) due to the limited availability of funds. However, certification for those currently enrolled will continue during this period.
