Since Jan. 1, more than 1,200 women have registered their service for free! Our goal this year is to register the service of 100,000 women, and we need your help to reach the women whose stories will be lost to history if not recorded and preserved for generations to come at our Memorial. Do you have a family member or friend who is a woman veteran? She deserves to take her rightful place in history. Without her story, our nation’s history is incomplete. Register her service for free at www.womensmemorial.org.
Black History Month
This month, we take the time to honor the culture, sacrifices and invaluable contributions of Black servicewomen. These Sisters in Arms have overcome insurmountable odds of both gender bias and systemic racism to serve in defense of our nation. Let’s continue to celebrate these women all year round! Learn more about their individual experiences in our Register.
Visit the Memorial every day for a special screening of The Six Triple Eight: No Mail, Low Morale documentary, which tells the story of the only Women’s Army Corps all-Black female battalion in Europe during World War II. Check out the viewing schedule here.
Coming Soon:New Exhibit
Opening to the public in March, the Color of Freedom exhibit will highlight individual experiences of women of color in their own words and stories. These patriots’ extraordinary contributions throughout our history will be showcased and combined with unique artifacts from our world-class collection.
