The Prairie State College Student Veterans Center will host a Veterans Services Fair from 9 a.m. to noon April 9 in the Conference Center on the college’s main campus, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights.
The event will feature a VA Mobile Medical Unit and representatives from the Cook County and Illinois departments of veterans affairs, plus housing, legal and educational information, including resume-writing guides and more. Veterans of any period and their families are welcome to attend the day of education, networking and service events, the release said.
“As part of our community service, we are connecting veterans and their families to various federal, state, county and local township agencies in the hopes of helping them manage some of the challenges we all share,” Georges Sanon — an adjunct instructor, veteran and assistant faculty advisor for the student veterans club — said in the release.
“This event is another great effort that further demonstrates PSC’s dedication and commitment to the servicemen and women in our district,” PSC Board Chairwoman Jacqueline Agee said in the release.
