We will not be going to Peoria for a meeting this month and thus we need your attendance for the meeting on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm. at the Montford Point Marine Association, 7011 S. Vincennes Ave, Chicago, IL 60621.
For those of you who have missed meetings or are new; NWVU will hosts our annual fund-raiser luncheon with a souvenir ad book of well wishes from family, friends and supporters. The majority of the proceeds are utilized for our annual Stand Down for homeless, displaced and at risk women veterans in which we will host on Saturday, October 26, 2013.
The next meeting on the 20th is a very crucial meeting and our photographer will also be there taking pictures; individual and group for our souvenir ad book. We hope all can be in attendance at the next 2 meetings, as we move forward in a very short time to sell ads and tickets for the gala luncheon. Yes, we are out of time and as always we like to do things in a classy manner with as little distractions, challenges and issues as possible. One way to do this is to get in the spirit!!! We are out of time with much to do and you will hear that message each week as we count down our days to the event.
The hotel has been secured at the Oak Lawn Hilton 9333 S. Cicero Ave Oak Lawn, IL in the South Center banquet hall and now we need to sell 160 tickets and ads. If members can sell 5-10 tickets each we can get this mission accomplished. Members are expected to pay for their tickets and of course we will try to get some sponsors….do you know any?
Just to make it simple we need to sell 16 tables to meet our goal of 160 people – If we had 16 members to commit to selling at least 1 table we would be good to go….hint, hint….. I will start off with the 1st pledge of 1 table…..

We need everyone to please start looking for a red blouse………..our uniform for September 14, 2013 will be red blouse, patriotic scarf and black bottom (long pants or a skirt) no Capri’s, shorts, hot pants etc. (This will be further discussed at the meeting.) Of course we have our grand entrance as an organization and other than military uniforms; not in uniform means not in procession……….sorry.
Persevering * Surviving * Thriving……….That is what was voted on as our 2013 theme! Let’s embrace it and own it!
I will have gala tickets and extra flyers for the meeting so please start calling your family and friends tomorrow to get pledges for your tickets, patrons, donations and etc.
Tickets are $50, a patron is $10 and will be listed on your ad. 10 patrons means a full page ad for you. More to come in the following days e.g. committee assignments etc……..PLEASE check your e-mails often!!!!
