The National Women Veterans United (NWVU) a 501c3 veteran organization is seeking support of $10,000 for the Illinois Women Veteran’s Center.
We are asking for your generous end of the year donation in support of the only Women Veteran’s Center in Illinois and one of few across the nation that addresses the specific needs of military/women veterans and program services. Homeless and at risk military/women veterans are demonstrating their strength by reaching out to us for help. They somehow took a bad turn and life happens. Regardless of their stories of how they got to this point, NWVU wants to help them tell the story of how they became resilient! We need you to help us help them tell the new story!
NWVU is making a public appeal, applying for grants, fund-raising and our members will continue to donate and make pledges to meet the needs of military/women veterans who visit the Women Veteran’s Center for service intervention of a crisis. Our needs include funding for general operations and our programs for those seeking assistance: arts & crafts therapy, book club, peer-to-peer support, assistance with resumes & employment searches, referrals, financial literacy workshops, gift cards for essentials not covered by their EBT food cards such as personal hygiene kits. Transportation cards, seasonal clothing, delinquent utilities and rent are the greatest needs. NWVU assists when we can and when necessary. Your donation will make a difference in the lives of these women who need us most.
Donations or fund-raiser support can be made online through PayPal at www.nwvu.org under Menu Donations or mailed to and payable to the National Women Veterans United 7907-09 S. Racine Chicago, IL 60620. We also invite you to visit our Women’s Center by calling us at (872) 731-2150.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of donating $10,000 or another amount that would help support military/women veterans. As strong women who served honorably in the Armed Forces in every branch of service including the Reserves and National Guard, during War and Peace-time, as officers and enlisted and of all walks of life, we have One Voice and One Vision to assist military/women veterans to be resilient.
