The United States Marine Corps invites you visit the wall when it visits Chicago, Illinois at Soldier’s Field from June 23-26, 2016. The event opens at 2pm on Thursday, June 23rd and is open 24/7 through Sunday, June 26th at 3pm. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 24th at 10am.
Cook County Veterans Affair, in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs and the Brookfield Zoo will host the Vietnam War 50th. commemoration program on Thursday, September 29, 2016. All Vietnam-era veterans participating will receive special recognition of a Vietnam Veteran Lapel pin, Certificate of Appreciation, a Proclamation from President Barack Obama and a resolution from the Cook County Board.
Calling all Cook County Veterans, Reservists and Military Personnel to attend this free patriot celebration. Proudly sponsored by 6th District Cook County Commissioner Joan Patricia Murphy, VITAS Healthcare, Dignity Memorial and the Alsip Double Tree Hotel by Hilton, all branches of serviceman and women will be honored at the ceremony and celebration, Thursday October 13, 2016.
The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center will be hosting a memorial service on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. We will be honoring the life and memory of all recently departed Veterans and employees. All are welcome to attend.
Chicago's Memorial Day Parade honors all men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country. The Wreath Laying Ceremony will begin at 11am at the Eternal Flame on Daley Plaza (Dearborn and Washington Streets). The parade will step off at noon and proceed south on State Street from Lake Street to Van Buren Street.

The Cook County Department of Veterans Affairs, Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA), Brookfield Zoo, and The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration will host The VIETNAM WAR 50TH COMMEMORATION ceremony on Thursday, September 7, 2017; and invites all eligible veterans to complete the enclosed application and return to Cook County Department of Veterans Affairs office no later than Friday, August 25, 2017.
Thornton Fractional North High School will hold a morning ceremony to honor veterans on November 10.
Chicago Honors America's Veterans on November 11, 2017. The ceremony will take place in front of the Doughboy statue. The program will culminate with a wreath laying ceremony at the Doughboy, a 21-gun salute, “Taps” and the “Armed Forces Medley.”
