YWCA Workshop for Male-Identified Survivors of Sexual Trauma
March 8, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeStopping the Stigma:
A Workshop for Male-Identified Survivors of Sexual Trauma
YWCA Metropolitan Chicago recognizes that there are specific barriers and challenges that adult male-identified survivors face in the process of healing from sexual abuse/assault. As a result, male-identified survivors often remain silent about their experiences of sexual trauma due to shame and stigma. In this two-session workshop, participants will:
- Connect with other adult male-identified survivors in a
safe, confidential space - Discuss the impacts of sexual trauma that are specific to male-identified survivors
- Explore how gender roles and rape culture effect male-identified survivors
- Develop coping skills and self-care techniques
Participation in both workshop sessions is encouraged but not required.
If you are interested in attending, please contact:
Lindsey Koenig at 312.762.2731
*This group is open to any male-identified survivors, including transgender and cisgender men. Men of all sexual orientations are welcome.
