DESCRIPTION:Title: IRS Virtual Information Session for Individuals\nwith Disabilities (Schedule A)\nIRS Disability Employment Awareness Month – Virtual Information Session\nJoin us as we discuss & answer questions about unique hiring paths available to individuals with disabilities. Start a career with purpose. \nDuring this information session\, we will provide an overview of IRS benefits\, the\nSchedule A hiring program and documentation requirements\, how to apply for positions\nwith the IRS\, and provide tips for creating an effective resume. We will also be available\nto answer questions on the application process. ASL interpreters will be available during the event. \nAbout Schedule A:\nSchedule A is an Excepted Service appointing authority for Federal agencies to tap into\na diverse talent pool of individuals with disabilities without going through the (oftenlengthy) traditional hiring process. Eligible applicants must be a person with severe\nphysical\, psychiatric\, or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major\nlife activities\, or intellectual disability\, psychiatric disorders\, muscular or neurological\ndisorders. Other less obvious disabilities are also subject to eligibility such as lupus\,\nAIDS\, diabetes\, or heart disease. Other groups that may apply using the Schedule A\nappointment authority are disabled veterans with a 30% or more rating from the\nDepartment of Veterans Affairs or Department of Defense.
