Organization\, supporting Veterans\, and the Veterans of Foriegn Wars Post 311 in Richton Park\, IL.  has partnered with Onelight Self-Defense to provide a self-defense workshop for women. \nThe One Light self-defense team focuses on a single goal: \nPreparing women to avoid\, face\, or heal from physical violence\, transforming them from victims into survivors. \n \nWhat One Light Does \nA 3-hour workshop that focuses on simple techniques to release and run from attacks. \nLEARN: • Avoidance tactics. • Self-defense misconceptions. • Offensive/defensive techniques: (e.g.\, strikes and targets; chokes; grabs; bear hugs; and hair pulls). \nAll participants are required to sign a waiver; those under 18 years must have a parent/guardian signature. Attendees should be at least 11 years old. Dress in comfortable clothing and gym shoes. No flip-flops or jewelry\, please. Workshop participants will be provided access to water fountains\, bottled water\, and restrooms. \nOne Light does not charge for training\, but as a partner with Women At Risk\, International (WAR\, Int’l) asks that all participants make a free-will donation to WAR\, Int’l\, known for its fight against human trafficking\, rehabilitating victims\, and giving a voice to the silent cries of the oppressed. Your donations are 100% tax-deductible and greatly appreciated. This workshop will support JFL’s and VFW Post 311 initiative towards Positive Veteran Transitioning.
