Proud members of the last regiment of the Buffalo Soldiers, Norvell Harris (right) President of the 24th Infantry Regiment Association, Rochelle Crump, President  of the National Women Veterans United (NWVU) and (left) James Williams, treasurer of the 24th Infantry Regiment Association and (far left ) is a VFW comrade. The annual Memorial Day event at Oakwoods Cemetery was co-hosted by NWVU and was a special tribute honoring Mayor Harold Washington and the Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers.

3rd Photo-  Members of NWVU, Strike Force and 555th Parachute Infantry Association came together to pray for the community and speak out against the violence, when another child 10 years old was murdered in Chicago at 55th and Halsted Street. Kinko's in Oak Lawn donated the sign "Stop Killing the Children".
